FOR BELIEVING
So you say that you think you can live without her.
And you feel that the answers she gave hurt your pride.
And it seems that there is no need to try further,
You’ve hurt her
By making empty promises in stride.
For Believing.
And you say that the time you spent there was wasted.
And you know your return there would just be a lie.
To endure the bitterness you have tasted,
You’ve chased it
Out the door with your best alibi.
For Believing.
For Believing the lies that you told yourself,
And what’s worse, the ones you told to her.
You can run and hide,
And try to bottle up your pride,
But you can’t outrun the hurt.
Now you think that the time has come for your leaving.
And you see your own light ahead up the road.
You can pay the penalty For Believing
Conceiving
The ending to a story left untold.
For Believing.
