GO WHERE YOU LIKE

I’ve tried many times to make you understand

But every time I did I would always seem to land

Smack dab in the middle

I would always weaken just a little

And end up not saying what was on my mind

 

            But you can Go Where You Like

            And be just who you might

            I’m not going to try to stand in your way

            There’ll always be a rising sun

            It’s there for everyone

            Lighting the way

            Bring on the day

            And send your troubles on the run

 

The time we had together is now on my mind

In hot pursuit of your heart but I’m not the kind.

To waste time playing games

You know that to me it was all the same

If I won or lost despite the cost of playing

 

Now the time has come to bid you all my best

A most unlikely pair- whoever would have guessed

That we could wind up as friends

Instead of trying to make amends

We’d accept the way some things are meant to end
